frequently asked questions

COVID related frequently asked questions:

Can I bring someone with me to my appointment?

Due to the current situation, the studio asks you to come alone to your appointment. This is to ensure each others safety and to keep the amount of people in the studio at a minimum at all time.

Are there safety protocols when entering the studio?

Upon entering I will guide you through the studio’s protocol.

Do I have to wear a face mask during my appointment?

Yes, when entering the studio you will receive a disposable face mask that you have to wear for the duration of the appointment.

I have covid related symptoms, can I still come to the appointment?

If you experience any covid related symptoms please contact me as soon as possible. Please do not come to the studio if you have any symptoms.

How do I make an appointment?

When i’m taking bookings you can find the booking info on my website.

What does the process look like after I made a request?

When I receive your request, I will contact you as soon as possible to discuss your idea and further details with you. After we confirm on a date, I will send you the details for the deposit. Once I received the deposit your appointment is confirmed (please also see “Do I have to make a deposit for an appointment”). On the day of our appointment we will take some time to discuss the design, and make adjustments where needed. For larger scale work, the design (or sometimes a mock-up) is used as a guideline as my aim is to make something that suits to your body. Please keep in mind that my work is very intuitive and a lot of details etc only emerge when I start tattooing. Don’t plan anything straight after our appointment/ if you are travelling please allow some time before you travel back.

I haven’t heard anything yet, should I send another e-mail?

When my bookings are open, I usually have to deal with a great volume of e-mails. Due to that, I can only respond to your request if I can offer you an appointment. I dearly hope in the future to have an assistant to help me with my inbox, until then I am doing it by myself. I try to answer mail within a week, but i’m not always able to make that.

Do I have to make a deposit?

The appointment is only confirmed after I received your deposit. I will send you the details for the deposit via e-mail. Please make sure that you transfer the deposit within a week. Depending on the size of the work, a deposit can vary from 100 – 300 euros. The deposit is a part of the total price of the tattoo and is a necessary safety for me and the studio. Deposits are nun-refundable. The deposit covers the minimum charges of keeping that day for you; as it’s not always possible to fill up that day again, my day of work is lost.

I’ve experienced some issues in the past with people going through the whole booking process with me, to then disappear at the last moment when the deposit needs to be made. If you are in doubt about something please know that you can always speak to me about it. When you don’t show up on an appointment, or disappear after we went through the booking process via mail, it will be very unlikely to make a booking in the future.

How much will my tattoo cost?

Many factors affect the price of your tattoo, but I will always give you an estimate beforehand. I work with an hourly rate including 21% VAT tax. For larger work I charge a flat day rate. This means I have all day available for you (11:00-18:00). For larger projects it is possible to split it in two or more session and spread the costs.

Will you be travelling to …( Insert city) anytime soon?

All travel plans will be announced on my Instagram page and my website. Nothing there? Then I don’t have any travel plans 🙂

Do you do small tattoos?

Rarely, but if it’s a cool idea, hey, I might be up for it! I do have smaller designs in my flashbook available for tattooing.

Do you work with color?

Are there still plants available in the VINTAGE ’52 project?

Yes, this project will remain open until all the flowers have been tattooed.

Do you tattoo the ribs?

No. This area includes the space on the side of your torso, mainly just below the armpit. Please also see ‘good to know’.

Good to know:

There are a few places I prefer not to work on; face, behind the ears, fingers and rib area. Depending on your idea, I might not be able to accept your request for these areas. My designs do not lend themselves very well for cover-ups, since I like to work quite minimalistic. It should go without saying that I won’t tattoo any kind offensive symbols, appropriate cultural symbolism or copy a tattoo you saw from another artist/on the internet. If you want something similar to what I have tattooed before, we can always discuss a variation on the subject.
